The Ghetto Youths Project PDF Print E-mail

Ghetto Youths Entertainment is an independent record label based in Panama. The label’s headquarters are seated within a federal prison, nested deeply in a jungle of the Gamboa national reserve. The Ghetto Youths project was catalyzed in 2004 when one of the 2 members of The AG (Anonymo) was sentenced to eight years in prison for his involvement in an international drug trafficking network. Within the confines of barbed wire and under the watchful eye of armed guards, a legitimate and successful project was established.


The company, mainly developed by Frankie Niño (second member of The A.G. & aslo known as Genocide) and the professional recording studio which was built on premises by the inmates themselves, have history within penitentiary systems across Latin America and arround the world. A novel concept was then introduced into the correctional systems whereby inmates could artistically express their day-to-day struggle in a proactive manner.
